Honors Chief Dennis Moffett (Retired)
Mount Laurel Officials Honored
retired Chief of Police Dennis Moffett at the Township
Meeting, April 21st, 2008. Chief Moffett was
presented a proclamation from the Mayor and Council for his
over 33 years of Dedicated Continuous Service to the Township
and the Police Department.
Chief Moffett was also present a
plaque from the Police Department and Chief Lehmann presented
him with his retired Identification and Badge.
Chief Moffett joined the force in
1974, went through the ranks serving as Patrolman, Detective,
Sergeant, Lieutenant, Deputy Chief and Chief of Police.
He retired December 31, 2007 after serving over 33 years of
service.
He was also honored by the Mount
Laurel Superior Officers Association and the
Mount
Laurel F.O.P. Lodge 191. 2007 Officer of the Year
Luis Amaro, representing all the men and women of the
department, presented a bouquet of flowers to Mrs.
Moffett.
He received a standing ovation
from all those present and at the conclusion of the ceremony,
the members of the department paid tribute with a salute to
their former Chief.
