Firearms Application Procedure
NOTICE: AS OF JANUARY 1, 2001 - NJSAC 2C: 58-3 REQUIRES ALL APPLICANTS FOR PERMIT TO PURCHASE HANDGUN TO BE 21 YEARS OF AGE or OLDER. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AS THE MOUNT LAUREL POLICE DEPARTMENT GUIDELINES HAVE CHANGED.
Applications for firearms permits may be obtained at the Mount Laurel Police Department Headquarters at any time of the day or night.
Once you have completed all necessary documents, you must call the following number for an appointment with an investigator: 1-856-234-0001 Ext. 526.
You must appear in person with application. You must have a birth certificate or proof of naturalization or a passport and a valid New Jersey Drivers License. Appointments can only be made weekdays Monday through Friday, between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
All notifications are made by mail. Processing may take up to several months. Questions regarding firearms applications may be referred to the Mount Laurel Police Department (Firearms Section) at 234-0001 extension #526.
